Bulletin

The only solar flare observed during the last 24 hours was a B3.0 event peaking at 08:18UT and produced by NOAA 2546. This active region remains the sole sunspot group currently visible. A small filament eruption was observed on 23 May around 06:30UT (N18E25). No earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CMEs) were observed.

Quiet conditions are expected to continue.

Solar wind speed declined from 600 to 500 km/s. Bz varied mostly between -4 and +4 nT, with the Interplanetary Magnetic Field directed away from the Sun. A small negative coronal hole (CH) on the southern hemisphere is transiting the central meridian. Quiet geomagnetic conditions were observed.

Quiet to unsettled geomagnetic conditions are expected as a result of the gradually waning effects of the CH wind stream.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 017, based on 15 stations.
