Bulletin

Solar activity was at very low levels in the past 24 hours, and is expected to remain at very low levels (no C flares) in the next 48 hours. No earth-directed Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) were observed in available coronagraphic imagery. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal levels. Under the influence of the high speed stream from a positive coronal hole, solar wind speed registered by DSCOVR varied between about 600 and 790 km/s. The Interplanetary Magnetic Field (IMF) pointed away from the Sun and its magnitude decreased from about 14 to 4 nT. Bt varied between about -10 and 7 nT. Quiet to active geomagnetic conditions (K Dourbes between 2 and 4; NOAA Kp between 2 and 4) were registered in the past 24 hours. Active to minor storm conditions (K Dourbes = 4 to 5) are possible on August 5. Quiet to unsettled geomagnetic levels are expected on August 6 and 7.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 013, based on 25 stations.
