Bulletin

NOAA AR 2671 rotated into view and has produced several C-class flares associated with small faint CMEs (not Earth affecting). The strongest flare was a C2.3 at 22:10 UT on August 14. More C-class flares can be expected.

No Earth directed Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) have been detected. Solar protons have remained at background levels over the past 24 hours.

Geomagnetic conditions have been quiet (K and Kp 1 to 2). Solar wind speed is at 420 km/s with interplanetary magnetic field intensity of 4 nT. The fast solar wind from a coronal hole is expected to arrive on August 16-17, producing up to minor storm conditions. Quiet conditions are expected until then.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 020, based on 19 stations.
