Bulletin

Solar activity was at very low levels. The Sun is spotless. No earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CMEs) were observed in available coronagraphic imagery. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal levels.

Solar activity is expected to remain at very low levels.

Solar wind parameters are at nominal levels. Solar wind speed undulated between 320 km/s and 350 km/s, and Bz varied mostly between -4 and +3 nT (DSCOVR). The interplanetary magnetic field was mostly directed towards the Sun. Geomagnetic activity was at quiet levels.

Quiet to unsettled geomagnetic conditions are expected with a chance on an active or minor storming episode from wind streams associated with diffuse CHs. The chance on an isolated minor storming interval is likely to increase by 24 March with the expected arrival of the wind stream related to the extension of the negative polarity southern polar CH.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 12 stations.
