No C-class flares in past 24 h. Solar activity is expected to remain at very low levels.
No Earth directed Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) have been detected. Solar protons have remained at background levels over the past 24 hours.
The solar wind speed is at 400 km/s with interplanetary magnetic fields of 5 nT. Geomagnetic conditions have been quiet except for a period around midnight with active conditions (KDourbes = 4 from 23:00 UT on August 11 until 01:00 today, Kp = 4 in the 3h period starting at 21:00 UT on August 11). The active conditions occurred after several hours of negative Bz (around -7nT), after a sector boundary crossing. The fast solar wind associated with a small negative polarity equatorial coronal hole may affect the Earth today causing isolated active conditions.
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 18 stations.
