Bulletin

The solar flaring activity is still very low (no reported flares) and we expect it will remain so in the coming hours. Rather narrow CME was seen in the LASCO C2 field of view at about 19:06 on Decembe 09, propagating with the speed of about 200 km/s. During last 24 hours there were no Earth directed CMEs and the solar protons remained at the background level.

The solar wind speed is presently about 440 km/s and the interplanetary magnetic field magnitude is 7 nT. The in situ data show arrival of the magnetic structure in the solar wind, starting from early this morning. Presently it is unclear if we see expected arrival of the fast solar wind or the ICME of presently not clear source on the Sun. More will be reported later when more in situ data will be available. The geomagnetic conditions are presently quiet. We are expecting quiet to unsettled geomagnetic conditions with possibly isolated intervals of unsettled conditions.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 22 stations.
