Bulletin

The solar activity was at low levels over the past 24 hours. The sun was spotless and the X-ray flux was below B-level. The solar activity is expected to remain at low levels for the next 24 hours since no sunspots is visible on the disc.

No earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CMEs) have been identified in available coronagraphic imagery. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal values.

The solar wind parameters show an ambient background and slow solar wind speed regime with the solar wind speed ranging between 300 km/s and 360 km/s, the total interplanetary magnetic field remaining below 7 nT, and the southward component fluctuating between -5 nT and 5 nT. Since this morning, March 6 around 05:00 UTC, the solar wind became slightly enhanced with the wind speed increasing up to 380 km/s and the total interplanetary magnetic field increasing up to 9.5 UTC. The solar wind environment is expected to remain mostly in the slow wind regime with very slight enhancement.

The geomagnetic conditions were quiet with few periods of unsettled condition observed by Dourbes station (Kp, K-Dourbes = 3) in the beginning and at the end of the 24-hour period. We expect the geomagnetic conditions to remain mostly quiet.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 14 stations.
