Bulletin

There are presently five active regions observed on the visible side of the Sun and all of them have simple configuration of their photospheric magnetic field (alpha and beta). Accordingly, during last 24 hours only B-class flares were reported. We expect such a low level of flaring activity to continue in the coming hours. During last 24 hours there were no potentially Earth-directed CMEs detected in the coronagraph observations.

The greater than 10 MeV proton flux remained at the background levels, and the greater than 2 MeV electron flux was under the 1000 pfu threshold during last several days. The 24h electron fluence is at normal level. We do not expect change in these three parameters in the coming 24 hours.

The Earth is still inside the fast solar wind originating from the small positive polarity coronal hole (rotated across the central meridian on November 22nd). We expect arrival of the solar wind from the equatorial coronal hole of also positive polarity (crossed the central meridian on November 23rd) later today. The solar wind speed is presently about the 530 km/s and the interplanetary magnetic field magnitude is about 9 nT. During last 24 hours the geomagnetic conditions were mostly unsettled with isolated intervals of active conditions. The local station at Dourbes reported Kp=4 and NOAA reported planetary index K=4 around midnight of November 25. We can expect unsettled to active geomagnetic conditions in the coming hours.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 071, based on 14 stations.
