Bulletin

Solar activity continues to be very low with no C-class flares reported during last 24 hours. We do not expect significant change in the level of the solar activity, however C-class flares are still possible in the coming hours, in particularly from the Catania sunspot group 27 (NOAA 2506) which maintains beta-gamma configuration of its photospheric magnetic field. No Earth directed CMEs were observed in the last 24 hours. The Earth is currently inside the slow solar wind with the speed of about 340 km/s, and the interplanetary magnetic field magnitude is 4 nT. The fast flow from the equatorial coronal hole, seemingly connected to the northern polar coronal hole, which reached central meridian on February 26 can be expected tomorrow. Currently, geomagnetic conditions are quiet and are expected to remain so in the coming hours. The arrival of the fast flow might induce disturbed geomagnetic conditions starting from March 1.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 049, based on 17 stations.
