Bulletin

Solar activity remains to be low, with only one B1.3 flare reported in the last 24 hours. We expect solar activity to remain on the same low level, with isolated C-class flare possible but not very probable. No Earth directed CMEs were observed during last 24 hours.

The Earth is inside the fast solar wind with the speed of about 620 km/s. The interplanetary magnetic field magnitude decreased, and it presently amounts about 5 nT. Due to the influence of the fast flow disturbed geomagnetic conditions were reported from about 18:00 of January 18 up to the early morning of January 19 (local station at Dourbes reported K=4 and NOAA reported Kp=4). Due to the ongoing influence of the fast solar wind, we can expect unsettled to active conditions in the coming hours.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 031, based on 15 stations.
