Bulletin

The solar activity is extremely low without even B-class flares reported in the last 24 hours. We expect the low level of activity to continue in the coming hours, however B-class flares are still possible. The CME first clearly seen in the SOHO LASCO C2 field of view at about 07:36 UT on April 28 (after a long data gap) seem to be rather narrow with the bulk of the CME mass directed northward of the Sun-Earth line. From the currently available observations it does not seem very probable that this CME will arrive at the Earth. More will be reported when data become available. No Earth directed CMEs have been observed in the past 24 hours. The Earth is presently inside the slow solar wind with the speed of 400 km/s, and the interplanetary magnetic field magnitude amounts about 5 nT. The geomagnetic conditions are presently quiet and we expect them to stay so in the coming hours.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 036, based on 16 stations.
