Bulletin

During last 24 hours, solar flaring activity remained to be very low, without any flares reported. We expect such a low level of flaring activity to persist in the coming hours. No Earth directed CMEs have been observed in coronagraph data and proton flux levels were at background values, and are expected to remain so.

The solar wind speed is presently about 430 km/s and the interplanetary magnetic field magnitude is 4 nT. Starting from yesterday midday, the in situ observations show; the solar wind speed increasing, simultaneously with the temperature increase and increase of the interplanetary magnetic field magnitude. All this indicates arrival of the solar wind from the small negative polarity coronal hole that crossed central meridian in the evening of March 8. As expected, the impact on the Earth is small, the geomagnetic conditions were mostly quiet to unsettled and we expect them to stay so in the coming hours.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 18 stations.
