Bulletin

During last 24 hours the solar flaring activity slightly increased. Several B-class and an isolated C-class flares were reported, all originating from the NOAA AR 2797. The impulsive C1.0 flare peaked at 17:54 UT on January 19. Presently available coronagraph observations (there is a large data gap in observations) do not show signatures of the possibly associated CME. We expect such a level of flaring activity to persist in the coming hours. During last 24 hours no Earth directed CMEs were observed in coronagraph data, and proton flux levels remained at background values.

The solar wind speed is presently around 340 km/s and the interplanetary magnetic field magnitude is about 6 nT. The geomagnetic conditions are presently quiet and we expect quiet to unsettled geomagnetic conditions in the coming hours.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 019, based on 13 stations.
