Solar Active Regions and flaring

Solar flaring activity was low over the past 24 hours, with only C-class flares identified. A total of 6 numbered sunspot groups were identified on the disk over the past 24 hours, all having alpha or beta magnetic configuration. The largest flare was a C1.4 flare peaking on November 21 at 05:36 UTC from behind the east limb. Solar flaring activity is expected to be low over the next 24 hours, with C-class flares likely.

Coronal mass ejections

No new Earth-directed Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) have been detected in the available coronagraph images.

Solar wind

Slow solar wind conditions were recorded over the past 24 hours. The interplanetary magnetic field was around 11 nT then at . The Bz reached a minimum value of -5nT. The solar wind velocity was around 450 km/s. Slow solar wind conditions are expected in the next 24 hours.

Geomagnetism

Geomagnetic activity was globally quiet to unsettled (Locally unsettled to active) over the past 24 hours. Geomagnetic conditions are expected to be quiet to unsettled in the next 24h.

Proton flux levels

The greater than 10 MeV proton flux remained below the 10 pfu threshold and is expected to remain so over the next days.

Electron fluxes at geostationary orbit

The greater than 2 MeV electron flux measured by GOES 19 was above the 1000 pfu threshold from Nov 20 around 11:50 UTC to 19:15 UTC . Electron flux levels are expected to cross shortly the 1000 pfu threshold over the next 24 hours. The 24-hour electron fluence was at moderate levels and is expected to remain at moderate levels over the next 24 hours.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 071, based on 13 stations.
