Bulletin

Solar activity was at very low levels. NOAA 2738 produced a B3 flare peaking at 19:31UT. No earth-directed coronal mass ejections were observed over the last 24 hours. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal values. A weak extension from the positive polarity northern polar coronal hole (CH) is transiting the central meridian.

Solar activity is expected to remain at very low levels.

Solar wind speed continued its gradual increase from its initial 340 km/s to reach 400 km/s by the end of the period. Bz varied between -6 and 6 nT, with a negative stretch from 15 till 20UT. The interplanetary magnetic field was mostly directed towards the Sun (negative sector). Quiet to unsettled geomagnetic conditions were observed.

Quiet to unsettled geomagnetic conditions are expected to continue.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 012, based on 23 stations.
